The last driving day began with a hearty breakfast. I thank the hotel staff for customizing the
meal and dedicating it to me:

We begin the driving my heading north on I-35 to Salines, KS. Stopping for a short rest break and fuel
at a combinaiton gas station/store, we find a whole display area selling Wizard of Oz souvenirs.
With that complete, we begin the long 435 mile drive to Denver on I-70. Flat plains and very little
green are the order of the day. About 150 miles into that journey, we begin to see gates and signs across
the Interstate:
We are warned by large signs to exit immediately when flashing or suffer prosecution. During a rest break, we learned
these gates are to prevent being stranded during snow storms.
As we leave Kansas (I know you have been waiting for it):
It was a long journey to Denver. We knew we were close when we began to see large billboards advertising a service to
come out and Scoop Your Dog's Poop for you.
I guess when doody calls, someone has to scoop. Well, enough of that sh.......ummmmm
As we circle around Denver and pick up I-25 north, we are quickly heading towards our final destination of Ft. Collins.
An hour and a half after leaving Denver, we arrive at Nicole's house, our final stop on the driving prortion of our
journey.
